Coaching and Mentoring at every level
We all know intimately the challenge of living in the organisational kaleidoscope.
Coaching and mentoring contributes to a fresh approach in a world of largely unchallenged assumptions. A world in which we like to think we are comfortable with constant change, restructures, pressure of deadlines and performance targets, sacrificed work-life balance and new issues (such as global developments, corporate social responsibility and regulatory reform) which race over the horizon.
The process involves reviewing present reality, exploring self-awareness and options, examining actions and deciding on solutions. The outcome includes greater clarity and enhanced personal effectiveness that can be spread through the organization.
The review includes:
- Responding to your personal agenda and situation.
- Sharing with someone who is objective and impartial.
- Setting clear expectations.
- Being prepared to be challenged.
- Exploring values and behaviours.
- Developing an ongoing learning capacity.
- A concern with the consequences of action.
- An ethic of care being attuned to the specific individual needs and circumstances as well as principles.
Enabling the following outcomes:
- The development of options for action and choices.
- Potential to be unlocked and developed.
- Greater understanding of personal values as well as those that drive the organisation.

The Metanous Development Centre for leadership, mentoring and coaching offers six ILM accredited coaching and mentoring programmes:
Certificate in Executive Coaching and Leadership Mentoring - L7
For practising senior leaders and managers or those working in a training and development role to equip them with the knowledge, skills and confidence to perform effectively as coaches and mentors as part of their normal leadership and management role.
Diploma for Professional Executive Coaches and Leadership Mentors - L7
Aims, in addition to the Certificate, to equip participants to move into a development role within their organisations or freelance as an executive coach. Specifically for those who will be significantly involved in executive coaching/leadership mentoring. Participants in the L7 qualifications in coaching and mentoring will normally be practising senior managers.
Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring in Management - L5
For practising managers aiming to equip them with the knowledge, skills and confidence to perform effectively as coaches or mentors as part of their normal work role.
Diploma for Professional Coaches and Mentors in Management - L5
This programme aims to equip middle managers to become siginificantly involved in management coaching and mentoring within their organisations or to freelance as a management coach or mentor.
Award in Workplace Coaching for Team Leaders and First Line Managers - L3
This programme aims to provide practising and potential team leaders and first line managers with the knowledge, skills and confidence to perform as workplace coaches as part of their normal work role.
Certificate for Professional Workplace Coaches - L3
As for the Award but for those, typically praciticing team leaders or first line managers, who will be significantly involved workplace coaching - within their organisation or as freelance professionals.
